(More customer reviews)Received this full size mattress and it's supposed to be 8 inches, but that's the pretufted number. The number before they compress it. It measured 5 1/2 inches. It's a deceptive practice not to tell the truth and let people know that the final measurement is closer to 6 inches. This makes a difference if you're sleeping on it all the time as 8-9 inches is the amount needed for that. The mattress is thinner and lighter than I expected. It slightly sags in the middle when laying on it, not providing proper support for the lower back.It's better than a beginner cheaper mattress that will wear out fast. I opened one of the zippers to look inside - the cotton is cheap. It's overpriced and not the quality espoused. I doubt it will hold up well.
I was surprised to see it was shipped by folding it in half. Right there that told me something wrong. An innerspring mattress folded like that?????
The manufacturer of Elite mattress (American Alliance) customer service is weak. The clerks are not well trained. None of them have ever seen or even laid down on their products. There's none on display at the headquarters in Corona Calif. They have only one retail store where people can actually go and see this mattress, and that's 40 minutes away from them. The people who work in the factory are lazy and won't go to the mattress and answer a few questions about the mattress tag.
Not only do I not recommend this mattress, but I strongly suggest that you don't buy a futon mattress without actually being able to see it, sit, lie on it and determine if it's comfortable for you. And if you really must, make sure the company has a return policy if you don't like it or if it's defective. And make sure that don't included high amounts of penalty fees as: restocking fees, paying round trip shipping for the mattress or any other fees. And check their rating on line with the BBB before you buy from them. Written policy ain't worth 10 cents if they won't comply.
If you get this mattress online, make sure that you unpack it gently because many on line stores won't take it back without the original packing.
I also suggest you stick with major manufacturers like: gold bond, wolf, Otis Haley, August Lotz, Simmons, whom have proven they make top quality products.
